When he saw her, he ripped his clothes and said,“Oh no! My daughter! You have completely ruined me! You have brought me disaster! I made an oath to the LORD, and I cannot break it.”

Their slander will bring about their demise. All who see them will shudder,

The wicked will be captured by his own iniquities, and he will be held by the cords of his own sin.

The wise person accepts instructions, but the one who speaks foolishness will come to ruin.

The evil person is ensnared by the transgression of his speech, but the righteous person escapes out of trouble.

In the speech of a fool is a rod for his back, but the words of the wise protect them.

If the snake should bite before it is charmed, the snake charmer is in trouble.

They went to the chief priests and the elders and said,“We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath not to partake of anything until we have killed Paul.
