Again they wept loudly. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung tightly to her.

He said,“May you be rewarded by the LORD, my dear! This act of devotion is greater than what you did before. For you have not sought to marry one of the young men, whether rich or poor.

Commit your future to the LORD! Trust in him, and he will act on your behalf.

So when they had brought their boats to shore, they left everything and followed him.

In the same way therefore not one of you can be my disciple if he does not renounce all his own possessions.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.
