You give me your protective shield; your willingness to help enables me to prevail.

Paul’s Authority from the Lord Now I, Paul, appeal to you personally by the meekness and gentleness of Christ(I who am meek when present among you, but am full of courage toward you when away!)–

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who belong to the family of faith.

You must put away all bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, and slanderous talk– indeed all malice.

Exhortation to Unity and Love Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.

Likewise also their wives must be dignified, not slanderous, temperate, faithful in every respect.

Living Out the Message Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. He who speaks against a fellow believer or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge.

Honor all people, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the king.

For the one who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from uttering deceit.

especially those who indulge their fleshly desires and who despise authority. Brazen and insolent, they are not afraid to insult the glorious ones,

But these men do not understand the things they slander, and they are being destroyed by the very things that, like irrational animals, they instinctively comprehend.
