For he hath oppressed^H7533 and forsaken^H5800 the poor;^H1800 He hath violently taken away^H1497 a house,^H1004 and he shall not build^H1129 it up.

He sitteth^H3427 in the lurking-places^H3993 of the villages;^H2691 In the secret places^H3993 doth he murder^H2026 the innocent;^H5355 His eyes^H5869 are privily set^H6845 against the helpless.^H2489

Thou hast seen^H7200 [it]; for thou beholdest^H5027 mischief^H5999 and spite,^H3708 to requite^H5414 it with thy hand:^H3027 The helpless^H2489 committeth^H5800 [himself] unto thee; Thou hast been the helper^H5826 of the fatherless.^H3490

Ye put to shame^H954 the counsel^H6098 of the poor,^H6041 Because Jehovah^H3068 is his refuge.^H4268

Whoso mocketh^H3932 the poor^H7326 reproacheth^H2778 his Maker;^H6213 [And] he that is glad^H8056 at calamity^H343 shall not be unpunished.^H5352

If thou seest^H7200 the oppression^H6233 of the poor,^H7326 and the violent^H1499 taking away of justice^H6664 and righteousness^H4941 in a province,^H4082 marvel^H8539 not at the matter:^H2656 for one higher^H1364 than the high^H1364 regardeth;^H8104 and there are higher^H1364 than they.^H5921

Jehovah^H3068 will enter^H935 into judgment^H4941 with the elders^H2205 of his people,^H5971 and the princes^H8269 thereof: It is ye that have eaten up^H1197 the vineyard;^H3754 the spoil^H1500 of the poor^H6041 is in your houses:^H1004

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 For three^H7969 transgressions^H6588 of Israel,^H3478 yea, for four,^H702 I will not turn away^H7725 the punishment thereof; because they have sold^H4376 the righteous^H6662 for silver,^H3701 and the needy^H34 for a pair of shoes—^H5275

Forasmuch^H3282 therefore as ye trample^H1318 upon the poor,^H1800 and take^H3947 exactions^H4864 from him of wheat:^H1250 ye have built^H1129 houses^H1004 of hewn stone,^H1496 but ye shall not dwell^H3427 in them; ye have planted^H5193 pleasant^H2531 vineyards,^H3754 but ye shall not drink^H8354 the wine^H3196 thereof.

Shall I be pure^H2135 with wicked^H7562 balances,^H3976 and with a bag^H3599 of deceitful^H4820 weights?^H68

and oppress^H6231 not the widow,^H490 nor the fatherless,^H3490 the sojourner,^H1616 nor the poor;^H6041 and let none of you devise^H2803 evil^H7451 against^H376 his brother^H251 in your heart.^H3824

But^G1161 Saul^G4569 laid waste^G3075 the church,^G1577 entering into^G1531 every^G2596 house,^G3624 and^G2532 dragging^G4951 men^G435 and^G5037 women^G1135 committed^G3860 them to^G1519 prison.^G5438

But^G1161 when her^G846 masters^G2962 saw^G1492 that^G3754 the hope^G1680 of their^G846 gain^G2039 was gone,^G1831 they laid hold^G1949 on Paul^G3972 and^G2532 Silas,^G4609 and dragged^G1670 them into^G1519 the marketplace^G58 before^G1909 the rulers,^G758

But^G1161 when Gallio^G1058 was proconsul^G445 of Achaia,^G882 the Jews^G2453 with one accord^G3661 rose^G2721 up against Paul^G3972 and^G2532 brought^G71 him^G846 before^G1909 the judgment-seat,^G968

and^G2532 ye have regard^G1914 to^G1909 him that^G3588 weareth^G5409 the fine^G2986 clothing,^G2066 and^G2532 say,^{G2036 G846} Sit^G2521 thou^G4771 here^G5602 in a good place;^G2573 and^G2532 ye say^G2036 to the poor^G4434 man, Stand^G2476 thou^G4771 there,^G1563 or^G2228 sit^{G2521 G5602} under^G5259 my^G3450 footstool;^G5286

Ye have condemned,^G2613 ye have killed^G5407 the righteous^G1342 [one]; he doth^G498 not^G3756 resist^G498 you.^G5213
