But the midwives^H3205 feared^H3372 God,^H430 and did^H6213 not as the king^H4428 of Egypt^H4714 commanded^H1696 them, but saved^H2421 the men-children^H3206 alive.^H2421

And it came to pass in the course^H1992 of those many days,^H3117 that the king^H4428 of Egypt^H4714 died:^H4191 and the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 sighed^H584 by reason of^H4480 the bondage,^H5656 and they cried,^H2199 and their cry^H7775 came up^H5927 unto God^H430 by reason of the bondage.^H5656

And now, behold, the cry^H6818 of the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 is come^H935 unto me: moreover I have seen^H7200 the oppression^H3906 wherewith the Egyptians^H4714 oppress^H3905 them.

And ye shall not wrong^H3238 one^H376 another;^H5997 but thou shalt fear^H3372 thy God:^H430 for I am Jehovah^H3068 your God.^H430

As a servant^H7916 hired year^H8141 by year shall he be with him: he shall not rule^H7287 with rigor^H6531 over him in thy sight.^H5869

And now ye purpose^H559 to keep under^H3533 the children^H1121 of Judah^H3063 and Jerusalem^H3389 for bondmen^H5650 and bondwomen^H8198 unto you: [but] are there not even^H7535 with you trespasses^H819 of your own against Jehovah^H3068 your God?^H430

What then shall I do^H6213 when God^H410 riseth up?^H6965 And when he visiteth,^H6485 what shall I answer^H7725 him?

Wherefore have we fasted,^H6684 [say they], and thou seest^H7200 not? [wherefore] have we afflicted^H6031 our soul,^H5315 and thou takest no knowledge?^H3045 Behold, in the day^H3117 of your fast^H6685 ye find^H4672 [your own] pleasure,^H2656 and exact^H5065 all your labors.^H6092

And I will come near^H7126 to you to judgment;^H4941 and I will be a swift^H4116 witness^H5707 against the sorcerers,^H3784 and against the adulterers,^H5003 and against the false^H8267 swearers,^H7650 and against those that oppress^H6231 the hireling^H7916 in his wages,^H7939 the widow,^H490 and the fatherless,^H3490 and that turn aside^H5186 the sojourner^H1616 [from his right], and fear^H3372 not me, saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 of hosts.^H6635

Masters,^G2962 render^G3930 unto^G1401 your servants^G1401 that which is just^G1342 and^G2532 equal;^G2471 knowing^G1492 that^G3754 ye^G5210 also^G2532 have^G2192 a Master^G2962 in^G1722 heaven.^G3772
