The man^H376 that is tender^H7390 among you, and very^H3966 delicate,^H6028 his eye^H5869 shall be evil^H3415 toward his brother,^H251 and toward the wife^H802 of his bosom,^H2436 and toward the remnant^H3499 of his children^H1121 whom he hath remaining;^H3498

And Saul^H7586 was very^H3966 wroth,^H2734 and this saying^H1697 displeased^H3415 him; and he said,^H559 They have ascribed^H5414 unto David^H1732 ten thousands,^H7233 and to me they have ascribed^H5414 but thousands:^H505 and what can he have more but the kingdom?^H4410

Howbeit^H3651 in [the business of] the ambassadors^H3887 of the princes^H8269 of Babylon,^H894 who sent^H7971 unto him to inquire^H1875 of the wonder^H4159 that was done in the land,^H776 God^H430 left^H5800 him, to try^H5254 him, that he might know^H3045 all that was in his heart.^H3824

A prudent^H6175 man^H120 concealeth^H3680 knowledge;^H1847 But the heart^H3820 of fools^H3684 proclaimeth^H7121 foolishness.^H200

Eat^H3898 thou not the bread^H3899 of him that hath an evil^H7451 eye,^H5869 Neither desire^H183 thou his dainties:^H4303

Though thou shouldest bray^H3806 a fool^H191 in a mortar^H4388 with^H8432 a pestle^H5940 along with bruised grain,^H7383 Yet will not his foolishness^H200 depart^H5493 from him.

I turned^H5437 about, and my heart^H3820 [was set] to know^H3045 and to search^H8446 out,^H1245 and to seek wisdom^H2451 and the reason^H2808 [of things], and to know^H3045 that wickedness^H7562 is folly,^H3689 and that foolishness^H5531 is madness.^H1947

But^G1161 if^G1437 thine^G4675 eye^G3788 be^G5600 evil,^G4190 thy^G4675 whole^G3650 body^G4983 shall be^G2071 full of darkness.^G4652 If^G1487 therefore^G3767 the light^G5457 that is^G3588 in^G1722 thee^G4671 be^G2076 darkness,^G4655 how great^G4214 is the darkness!^G4655

casting down^G2507 imaginations,^G3053 and^G2532 every^G3956 high thing^G5313 that is exalted^G1869 against^G2596 the knowledge^G1108 of God,^G2316 and^G2532 bringing every^G3956 thought^G3540 into captivity^G163 to^G1519 the obedience^G5218 of Christ;^G5547

Likewise,^G3668 ye^G240 younger,^G3501 be subject^G5293 unto the elder.^G4245 Yea,^G1161 all^G3956 of you gird yourselves with^G1463 humility,^G5012 to serve one another:^G5293 for^G3754 God^G2316 resisteth^G498 the proud,^G5244 but^G1161 giveth^G1325 grace^G5485 to the humble.^G5011
