And I spake^H559 unto you at that time,^H6256 saying,^H559 I am not able^H3201 to bear^H5375 you myself alone:^H905

And when the Syrians^H758 of Damascus^H1834 came^H935 to succor^H5826 Hadadezer^H1909 king^H4428 of Zobah,^H6678 David^H1732 smote^H5221 of the Syrians^H758 two^H8147 and twenty^H6242 thousand^H505 men.^H376

Be it known^H3046 now^H3705 unto the king,^H4430 that, if^H2006 this^H1791 city^H7149 be builded,^H1124 and the walls^H7792 finished,^H3635 they will not^H3809 pay^H5415 tribute,^H1093 custom,^H1983 or toll,^H4061 and in the end it will be hurtful^H5142 unto^H674 the kings.^H4430

Moreover I^H4481 make^H7761 a decree^H2942 what^H3964 ye shall do^H5648 to^H5974 these^H479 elders^H7868 of the Jews^H3062 for the building^H1124 of this^H1791 house^H1005 of God:^H426 that of the king's^H4430 goods,^H5232 even of^H1768 the tribute^H4061 beyond^H5675 the River,^H5103 expenses^H5313 be^H1934 given^H3052 with all diligence^H629 unto these^H479 men,^H1400 that they be not^H3809 hindered.^H989

Tell^G2036 us^G2254 therefore,^G3767 What^G5101 thinkest^G1380 thou?^G4671 Is it lawful^G1832 to give^G1325 tribute^G2778 unto Caesar,^G2541 or^G2228 not?^G3756
