And they tolde him, saying: If thou be kinde to this people, and shewe thy selfe lowlie to them, and speake louyng wordes to them, they wyll be thy seruauntes for euer.
Hatred stirreth vp strifes: but loue couereth the multitude of sinnes.
With pacience is a prince pacified, and with a softe tongue is rigorousnesse broken.
Scornefull men bryng a citie into a snare: but wise men turne away wrath.
And when he had thus spoken, he let the assemblie depart.
