Be not wyse in thine owne conceate, but feare ye LORDE and departe from euell:

Yf thou seyest a man yt is wyse in his owne conceate, there is more hope in a foole then in hi.

Wo vnto them that are wyse in their owne sight, and thinke them selues to haue vnderstodinge.

Then came vnto him the scribes and pharises from Ierusalem, sayenge:

And when he was come in to the teple, the chefe prestes and the elders of the people came vnto him (as he was teachinge) & sayde: By what auctorite doest thou these thinges? and who gaue the this auctorite?

But one of the people sayde vnto him: Master, byd my brother deuyde the enheritaunce with me.

Now whyle they contynued axynge him, he lift him self vp, and sayde vnto them: He that is amonge you without synne, let him cast the first stone at her.
