Moreouer Iaakob said, O God of my father Abraham, & God of my father Izhak: Lord, which saydest vnto me, Returne vnto thy coutrey and to thy kinred, and I will do thee good,

The Lorde our God be with vs, as he was with our fathers, that he forsake vs not, neither leaue vs,

Therefore Dauid blessed the Lord before all the Congregation, and Dauid sayde, Blessed be thou, O Lorde God, of Israel our father, for euer and euer.

And saide, O Lorde God of our fathers, art not thou God in heauen? And reignest not thou on all the kingdomes of the heathen? And in thine hande is power and might, and none is able to withstand thee.

Offer vnto God praise, and pay thy vowes vnto the most High,

I haue counsell and wisedome: I am vnderstanding, and I haue strength.

A wise man is strong: for a man of vnderstanding encreaseth his strength.

Then said I, Better is wisdome then stregth: yet the wisedome of the poore is despised, and his wordes are not heard.

And thou shalt say in that day, O Lorde, I will prayse thee: though thou wast angrie with me, thy wrath is turned away, and thou comfortest me.

As for these foure children, God gaue them knowledge, & vnderstanding in al learning and wisedome: also he gaue Daniel vnderstanding of all visions and dreames.

And Daniel answered and sayde, The Name of God be praysed for euer and euer: for wisedome and strength are his,

Amos 3:7 TSK

Surely the Lord God will doe nothing, but he reueileth his secrete vnto his seruantes the Prophets.

That same houre reioyced Iesus in the spirit, and said, I confesse vnto thee, Father, Lord of heauen & earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and vnderstanding, and hast reueiled them to babes: euen so, Father, because it so pleased thee.

Henceforth call I you not seruants: for the seruant knoweth not what his master doeth: but I haue called you friends: for all things that I haue heard of my Father, haue I made knowen to you.

And one of the Elders saide vnto me, Weepe not: beholde, that Lion which is of the tribe of Iuda, that roote of Dauid, hath obteined to open the Booke, and to loose the seuen seales thereof.
