The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
¶ Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed [be] thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.
And said, O LORD God of our fathers, [art] not thou God in heaven? and rulest [not] thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand [is there not] power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
Counsel [is] mine, and sound wisdom: I [am] understanding; I have strength.
A wise man [is] strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
Then said I, Wisdom [is] better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom [is] despised, and his words are not heard.
¶ And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
¶ As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his:
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, ‹I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.›
‹Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.›
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
