Then came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Ebrew, which dwelt in the plaine of Mamre ye Amorite, brother of Eshcol, & brother of Aner, which were confederat with Abram.

Then she tolde him according to these words, saying, The Ebrew seruat, which thou hast brought vnto vs, came in to me, to mocke me.

Cruell witnesses did rise vp: they asked of me things that I knewe not.

What doeth thy deceitfull tongue bring vnto thee? or what doeth it auaile thee?

Hearken vnto me, ye that know righteousnesse, the people in whose heart is my Lawe. Feare ye not the reproche of men, neither be ye afraide of their rebukes.

Those that be neere, & those that be farre from thee, shall mocke thee, which art vile in name and sore in affliction.

Nowe the chiefe Priestes and the Elders, and all the whole councill sought false witnesse against Iesus, to put him to death.

By honour, and dishonour, by euill report, and good report, as deceiuers, and yet true:

Notwithstanding blessed are ye, if ye suffer for righteousnes sake. Yea, feare not their feare, neither be troubled.
