The riches of vanitie shal diminish: but he that gathereth with the hand, shall increase them.
So is he that gathereth riches to himselfe, and is not riche in God.
The Pharise stoode and prayed thus with himselfe, O God, I thanke thee that I am not as other men, extortioners, vniust, adulterers, or euen as this Publican.
We are fooles for Christes sake, and ye are wise in Christ: we are weake, and ye are strong: ye are honourable, and we are despised.
As sorowing, and yet always reioycing: as poore, and yet make many riche: as hauing nothing, and yet possessing all things.
Promising vnto them libertie, & are themselues the seruants of corruption: for of whomsoeuer a man is ouercome, euen vnto the same is he in bondage.
For thou saiest, I am rich and increased with goods, and haue neede of nothing, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, and poore, and blinde, and naked.
