And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God [is] not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife's sake.

And Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; [for] I fear God:

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I [am] the LORD.

And David said to all the congregation, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the congregation blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshipped the LORD, and the king.

¶ The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.

¶ My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change:

Then I cut asunder mine other staff, [even] Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

‹By this shall all› [men] ‹know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.›

¶ Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

¶ Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

¶ Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and [his] doctrine be not blasphemed.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently:
