Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted [thy] voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? [even] against the Holy One of Israel.
If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king.
Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast [him] into the den of lions. [Now] the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
‹But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.›
‹But when they shall lead› [you], ‹and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.›
‹And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and› [unto] ‹magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:›
‹Settle› [it] ‹therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:›
But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
