Back to passage

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD your God.

And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; [so] shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give [them] their meat in due season.

But he answered and said, ‹It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.›

‹And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.›

[Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
