¶ After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I [am] thy shield, [and] thy exceeding great reward.

And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and submit thyself under her hands.

And he said, I [am] God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

For that [is] his covering only, it [is] his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I [am] gracious.

¶ And, behold, Saul came after the herd out of the field; and Saul said, What [aileth] the people that they weep? And they told him the tidings of the men of Jabesh.

And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

¶ The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops?

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Then Jesus called his disciples [unto him], and said, ‹I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.›
