And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and he made himself treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of pleasant jewels;

¶ [A Psalm] of David. The LORD [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness [and] righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

¶ The crown of the wise [is] their riches: [but] the foolishness of fools [is] folly.

The fear of the LORD [is] a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

¶ The fear of the LORD [tendeth] to life: and [he that hath it] shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

¶ For the transgression of a land many [are] the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding [and] knowledge the state [thereof] shall be prolonged.

¶ The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty [men] which are in the city.

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.

Shalt thou reign, because thou closest [thyself] in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, [and] then [it was] well with him?

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and [yet] possessing all things.

¶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.
