¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

¶ And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, thence came out a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name [was] Shimei, the son of Gera: he came forth, and cursed still as he came.

¶ Wherefore David blessed the LORD before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed [be] thou, LORD God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue [is] mischief and vanity.

To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness [and] of thy praise all the day long.

Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early.

They only consult to cast [him] down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought unto shame, that seek my hurt.

As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Then began he to curse and to swear, [saying], I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:

¶ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:
