Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.
¶ Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all [them] whose spirit God had raised, to go up to build the house of the LORD which [is] in Jerusalem.
Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.
¶ The king's heart [is] in the hand of the LORD, [as] the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
But this [shall be] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
‹Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.›
‹It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.›
And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which [was bestowed] upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
¶ But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
