Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched [his] tent toward Sodom.

But he forsook the counsel of the old men, which they had given him, and consulted with the young men that were grown up with him, [and] which stood before him:

And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I [am] as thou [art], my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses.

And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore [is] wrath upon thee from before the LORD.

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

¶ The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
