¶ My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
¶ The beginning of strife [is as] when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before it be meddled with.
¶ He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
¶ He that passeth by, [and] meddleth with strife [belonging] not to him, [is like] one that taketh a dog by the ears.
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
He answered and said unto them, ‹Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.›
