Back to passage

¶ Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

‹And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.›

‹Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and› [some] ‹of them they shall slay and persecute:›

‹So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.›

Jesus answered him, ‹I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.›

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
