If I did despise the cause of my manservant or of my maidservant, when they contended with me;

¶ A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

¶ Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: [and] he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.

And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

¶ Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.

[Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

¶ Who [is] a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Neither as being lords over [God's] heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.
