[It is] God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

¶ [Let] the high [praises] of God [be] in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;

And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits].

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¶ ‹And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;›

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
