Certainly no man who has a physical flaw is to approach: a blind man, or one who is lame, or one with a slit nose, or a limb too long,

He said to Zebah and Zalmunna,“Describe for me the men you killed at Tabor.” They said,“They were like you. Each one looked like a king’s son.”

You have seen a person skilled in his work– he will take his position before kings; he will not take his position before obscure people.

Now as for these four young men, God endowed them with knowledge and skill in all sorts of literature and wisdom– and Daniel had insight into all kinds of visions and dreams.

The king issued an order to summon the magicians, astrologers, sorcerers, and wise men in order to explain his dreams to him. So they came and awaited the king’s instructions.

The wise men replied to the king,“There is no man on earth who is able to disclose the king’s secret, for no king, regardless of his position and power, has ever requested such a thing from any magician, astrologer, or wise man.

Now at that time certain Chaldeans came forward and brought malicious accusations against the Jews.

The king called out loudly to summon the astrologers, wise men, and diviners. The king proclaimed to the wise men of Babylon that anyone who could read this inscription and disclose its interpretation would be clothed in purple and have a golden collar placed on his neck and be third ruler in the kingdom.

At that time Moses was born, and he was beautiful to God. For three months he was brought up in his father’s house,

so that he may present the church to himself as glorious– not having a stain or wrinkle, or any such blemish, but holy and blameless.
