Pharaoh sent representatives to investigate, and indeed, not even one of the livestock of Israel had died. But Pharaoh’s heart remained hard, and he did not release the people.

Now I know that the LORD is greater than all the gods, for in the thing in which they dealt proudly against them he has destroyed them.”

But they did not pay attention and were as stubborn as their ancestors, who had not trusted the LORD their God.

He also rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him vow allegiance in the name of God. He was stubborn and obstinate, and refused to return to the LORD God of Israel.
