The Family of Jacob When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to become pregnant while Rachel remained childless.

With her dying breath, she named him Ben Oni. But his father called him Benjamin instead.

These were the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter. She bore these to Jacob, seven in all.

Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might and the beginning of my strength, outstanding in dignity, outstanding in power.

¶ Blessing during Bondage in Egypt These are the names of the sons of Israel who entered Egypt– each man with his household entered with Jacob:

Blessing on Reuben May Reuben live and not die, and may his people multiply.

But the Israelites did not conquer the Geshurites and Maacathites; Geshur and Maacah live among Israel to this very day.

Eli was very old. And he would hear about everything that his sons used to do to all the people of Israel and how they used to go to bed with the women who were stationed at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
