David said to God,“Was I not the one who decided to number the army? I am the one who sinned and committed this awful deed! As for these sheep– what have they done? O LORD my God, attack me and my family, but remove the plague from your people!”

But extend your hand and strike everything he has, and he will no doubt curse you to your face!”

Then his wife said to him,“Are you still holding firmly to your integrity? Curse God, and die!”

When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long.

Please stop wounding me! You have almost beaten me to death!
