May the praises of God be in their mouths and a two-edged sword in their hands,
He made my mouth like a sharp sword, he hid me in the hollow of his hand; he made me like a sharpened arrow, he hid me in his quiver.
ב(Bet) The precious sons of Zion were worth their weight in gold– Alas!– but now they are treated like broken clay pots, made by a potter.
Then with smooth words he will defile those who have rejected the covenant. But the people who are loyal to their God will act valiantly.
I made some of your sons prophets and some of your young men Nazirites. Is this not true, you Israelites?” The LORD is speaking!
Many nations will come, saying,“Come on! Let’s go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of Jacob’s God, so he can teach us his ways and we can live by his laws.” For instruction will proceed from Zion, the LORD’s message from Jerusalem.
Those survivors from Jacob will live in the midst of many nations. They will be like the dew the LORD sends, like the rain on the grass, that does not hope for men to come or wait around for humans to arrive.
I am enraged at the shepherds and will punish the lead-goats.For the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has brought blessing to his flock, the house of Judah, and will transform them into his majestic warhorse.
He said to them,“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching.
And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit(which is the word of God).
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.
To the Church in Pergamum“To the angel of the church in Pergamum write the following:“This is the solemn pronouncement of the one who has the sharp double-edged sword:
From his mouth extends a sharp sword, so that with it he can strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod, and he stomps the winepress of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful.
