I will come on him while he is weary and exhausted, and will make him afraid. All the people who are with him shall flee. I will strike the king only;
Yahweh, how my adversaries have increased! Many are those who rise up against me.
In the shelter of your presence you will hide them from the plotting of man. You will keep them secretly in a dwelling away from the strife of tongues.
Deliver me from the workers of iniquity. Save me from the bloodthirsty men.
Deliver me, Yahweh, from my enemies. I flee to you to hide me.
But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I didn't know that they had devised devices against me, [saying], Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
Yet, Yahweh, you know all their counsel against me to kill me; don't forgive their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from your sight; but let them be overthrown before you; deal you with them in the time of your anger.
But they all cried out together, saying, "Away with this man! Release to us Barabbas!"--
The Jews also joined in the attack, affirming that these things were so.
