Then I proclaimed^H7121 a fast^H6685 there, at the river^H5104 Ahava,^H163 that we might humble^H6031 ourselves before^H6440 our God,^H430 to seek^H1245 of him a straight^H3477 way^H1870 for us, and for our little ones,^H2945 and for all our substance.^H7399

Then Ezra^H5830 rose up^H6965 from before^H6440 the house^H1004 of God,^H430 and went^H3212 into the chamber^H3957 of Jehohanan^H3076 the son^H1121 of Eliashib:^H475 and [when] he came^H3212 thither, he did eat^H398 no bread,^H3899 nor drink^H8354 water;^H4325 for he mourned^H56 because of the trespass^H4604 of them of the captivity.^H1473

Now in the twenty^H6242 and fourth^H702 day^H3117 of this month^H2320 the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 were assembled^H622 with fasting,^H6685 and with sackcloth,^H8242 and earth^H127 upon them.

And in every province,^H4082 whithersoever^H4725 the king's^H4428 commandment^H1697 and his decree^H1881 came,^H5060 there was great^H1419 mourning^H60 among the Jews,^H3064 and fasting,^H6685 and weeping,^H1065 and wailing;^H4553 and many^H7227 lay^H3331 in sackcloth^H8242 and ashes.^H665

Wherefore I abhor^H3988 [myself], And repent^H5162 in dust^H6083 and ashes.^H665

When I wept,^H1058 [and chastened] my soul^H5315 with fasting,^H6685 That was to my reproach.^H2781

And in that day^H3117 did the Lord,^H136 Jehovah^H3069 of hosts,^H6635 call^H7121 to weeping,^H1065 and to mourning,^H4553 and to baldness,^H7144 and to girding^H2296 with sackcloth:^H8242

And ye shall call^H7121 upon me, and ye shall go^H1980 and pray^H6419 unto me, and I will hearken^H8085 unto you.

Thus saith^H559 the Lord^H136 Jehovah:^H3069 For this, moreover, will I be inquired^H1875 of by the house^H1004 of Israel,^H3478 to do^H6213 it for them: I will increase^H7235 them with men^H120 like a flock.^H6629

In those days^H3117 I, Daniel,^H1840 was mourning^H56 three^H7969 whole^H3117 weeks.^H7620

Yet even now, saith^H5002 Jehovah,^H3068 turn^H7725 ye unto me with all your heart,^H3824 and with fasting,^H6685 and with weeping,^H1065 and with mourning:^H4553
