And he took up^H5375 his parable,^H4912 and said,^H559 Rise up,^H6965 Balak,^H1111 and hear;^H8085 Hearken^H238 unto me, thou son^H1121 of Zippor:^H6834

And he took up^H5375 his parable,^H4912 and said,^H559 Balaam^H1109 the son^H1121 of Beor^H1160 saith,^H5002 And the man^H1397 whose eye^H5869 was closed^H8365 saith;^H5002

And David^H1732 lamented^H6969 with this lamentation^H7015 over Saul^H7586 and over Jonathan^H3083 his son^H1121

And Jeremiah^H3414 lamented^H6969 for Josiah:^H2977 and all the singing men^H7891 and singing women^H7891 spake^H559 of Josiah^H2977 in their lamentations^H7015 unto this day;^H3117 and they made^H5414 them an ordinance^H2706 in Israel:^H3478 and, behold, they are written^H3789 in the lamentations.^H7015

And Job^H347 again took^H3254 up his parable,^H4912 and said,^H559

that thou shalt take up^H5375 this parable^H4912 against the king^H4428 of Babylon,^H894 and say,^H559 How hath the oppressor^H5065 ceased!^H7673 the golden city^H4062 ceased!^H7673

O Jehovah,^H3068 why dost thou make us to err^H8582 from thy ways,^H1870 and hardenest^H7188 our heart^H3820 from thy fear?^H3374 Return^H7725 for thy servants'^H5650 sake, the tribes^H7626 of thine inheritance.^H5159

For the mountains^H2022 will I take up^H5375 a weeping^H1065 and wailing,^H5092 and for the pastures^H4999 of the wilderness^H4057 a lamentation,^H7015 because they are burned up,^H3341 so that none^H376 passeth^H5674 through; neither can men hear^H8085 the voice^H6963 of the cattle;^H4735 both the birds^H5775 of the heavens^H8064 and the beasts^H929 are fled,^H5074 they are gone.^H1980

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 of hosts,^H6635 Consider^H995 ye, and call^H7121 for the mourning women,^H6969 that they may come;^H935 and send^H7971 for the skilful^H2450 women, that they may come:^H935

behold, I will send^H7971 and take^H3947 all the families^H4940 of the north,^H6828 saith^H5002 Jehovah,^H3068 and [I will send] unto Nebuchadrezzar^H5019 the king^H4428 of Babylon,^H894 my servant,^H5650 and will bring^H935 them against this land,^H776 and against the inhabitants^H3427 thereof, and against all these nations^H1471 round about;^H5439 and I will utterly destroy^H2763 them, and make^H7760 them an astonishment,^H8047 and a hissing,^H8322 and perpetual^H5769 desolations.^H2723

And he spread^H6566 it before^H6440 me: and it was written^H3789 within^H6440 and without;^H268 and there were written^H3789 therein lamentations,^H7015 and mourning,^H1899 and woe.^H1958

Lament^H421 like a virgin^H1330 girded^H2296 with sackcloth^H8242 for the husband^H1167 of her youth.^H5271

Hear^H8085 ye this word^H1697 which I take up^H5375 for a lamentation^H7015 over you, O house^H1004 of Israel.^H3478

I will yet bring^H935 unto thee, O inhabitant^H3427 of Mareshah,^H4762 him^H3423 that shall possess thee: the glory^H3519 of Israel^H3478 shall come^H935 even unto Adullam.^H5725

Shall not all these take up^H5375 a parable^H4912 against him, and a taunting^H4426 proverb^H2420 against him, and say,^H559 Woe^H1945 to him that increaseth^H7235 that which is not his! how long? and that ladeth^H3513 himself with pledges!^H5671

And^G2532 they sought^G2212 to lay hold^G2902 on him;^G846 and^G2532 they feared^G5399 the multitude;^G3793 for^G1063 they perceived^G1097 that^G3754 he spake^G2036 the parable^G3850 against^G4314 them:^G846 and they left^G863 him,^G846 and^G2532 went away.^G565
