And Jacob^H3290 said^H559 to Rebekah^H7259 his mother,^H517 Behold, Esau^H6215 my brother^H251 is a hairy^H8163 man,^H376 and I am a smooth^H2509 man.^H376

And Moses^H4872 sent^H7971 messengers^H4397 from Kadesh^H6946 unto the king^H4428 of Edom,^H123 Thus saith^H559 thy brother^H251 Israel,^H3478 Thou knowest^H3045 all the travail^H8513 that hath befallen^H4672 us:

Because for thy sake I have borne^H5375 reproach;^H2781 Shame^H3639 hath covered^H3680 my face.^H6440

The days^H3117 of his youth^H5934 hast thou shortened:^H7114 Thou hast covered^H5844 him with shame.^{H955 H5542}

His enemies^H341 will I clothe^H3847 with shame;^H1322 But upon himself shall his crown^H5145 flourish.^H6692

Whoso mocketh^H3932 the poor^H7326 reproacheth^H2778 his Maker;^H6213 [And] he that is glad^H8056 at calamity^H343 shall not be unpunished.^H5352

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah^H3068 against all mine evil^H7451 neighbors,^H7934 that touch^H5060 the inheritance^H5159 which I have caused my people^H5971 Israel^H3478 to inherit:^H5157 behold, I will pluck them up from off^H5428 their land,^H127 and will pluck up^H5428 the house^H1004 of Judah^H3063 from among^H8432 them.

And Edom^H123 shall become an astonishment:^H8047 every one that passeth^H5674 by it shall be astonished,^H8074 and shall hiss^H8319 at all the plagues^H4347 thereof.

Rejoice^H7797 and be glad,^H8055 O daughter^H1323 of Edom,^H123 that dwellest^H3427 in the land^H776 of Uz:^H5780 The cup^H3563 shall pass^H5674 through unto thee also; thou shalt be drunken,^H7937 and shalt make thyself naked.^H6168

They shall also gird^H2296 themselves with sackcloth,^H8242 and horror^H6427 shall cover^H3680 them; and shame^H955 shall be upon all faces,^H6440 and baldness^H7144 upon all their heads.^H7218

Because thou hast had a perpetual^H5769 enmity,^H342 and hast given^H5064 over the children^H1121 of Israel^H3478 to the power^H3027 of the sword^H2719 in the time^H6256 of their calamity,^H343 in the time^H6256 of the iniquity^H5771 of the end;^H7093

And thou shalt know^H3045 that I, Jehovah,^H3068 have heard^H8085 all thy revilings^H5007 which thou hast spoken^H559 against the mountains^H2022 of Israel,^H3478 saying,^H559 They are laid desolate,^H8074 they are given^H5414 us to devour.^H402

Thus saith^H559 Jehovah:^H3068 For three^H7969 transgressions^H6588 of Edom,^H123 yea, for four,^H702 I will not turn away^H7725 the punishment thereof; because he did pursue^H7291 his brother^H251 with the sword,^H2719 and did cast off^H7843 all pity,^H7356 and his anger^H639 did tear^H2963 perpetually,^H5703 and he kept^H8104 his wrath^H5678 for ever:^H5331

but Esau^H6215 I hated,^H8130 and made^H7760 his mountains^H2022 a desolation,^H8077 and [gave] his heritage^H5159 to the jackals^H8568 of the wilderness.^H4057
