And the men^H376 of Ephraim^H669 said^H559 unto him, Why hast thou^H4100 served^H6213 us thus,^H1697 that thou calledst^H7121 us not, when thou wentest^H1980 to fight^H3898 with Midian?^H4080 And they did chide^H7378 with him sharply.^H2394

Thou hast indeed^H5221 smitten^H5221 Edom,^H123 and thy heart^H3820 hath lifted thee up:^H5375 glory^H3513 thereof, and abide^H3427 at home;^H1004 for why shouldest thou meddle^H1624 to [thy] hurt,^H7451 that thou shouldest fall,^H5307 even thou, and Judah^H3063 with thee?

The beginning^H7225 of strife^H4066 is [as] when one letteth out^H6362 water:^H4325 Therefore leave off^H5203 contention,^H7379 before^H6440 there is quarrelling.^H1566

Every purpose^H4284 is established^H3559 by counsel;^H6098 And by wise guidance^H8458 make^H6213 thou war.^H4421

Go not forth^H3318 hastily^H4118 to strive,^H7378 Lest [thou know not] what to do^H6213 in the end^H319 thereof, When thy neighbor^H7453 hath put thee to shame.^H3637

For^G1063 which^G5101 of^G1537 you,^G5216 desiring^G2309 to^G4314 build^G3618 a tower,^G4444 doth not^G3780 first^G4412 sit^G2523 down^G2523 and count^G5585 the cost,^G1160 whether^G1487 he have^G2192 [wherewith] to complete^G535 it?

But^G1161 if^G1487 ye have^G2192 bitter^G4089 jealousy^G2205 and^G2532 faction^G2052 in^G1722 your^G5216 heart,^G2588 glory^G2620 not^G3361 and^G2532 lie^G5574 not against^G2596 the truth.^G225

Or think^G1380 ye that^G3754 the scripture^G1124 speaketh^G3004 in vain?^G2761 Doth the spirit^G4151 which^G2730 he made to^G4314 dwell^G2730 in^G1722 us^G2254 long^G1971 unto^G4314 envying?^G5355
