And the Lorde sayde vnto Moyses: Take all the heades of the people, and hang them vp before the Lorde against the sunne, that the wrath of the Lordes countenaunce may be turned away from Israel.
Defile not therefore the lande whiche ye shal inhabite, for I am in the middes therof: euen I the Lord dwell among the chyldren of Israel.
Bryng not therfore abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thyng as it is: but vtterly defie it and abhorre it, for it is a cursed thyng.
And therfore is it that the children of Israel can not stande before their enemies, but shal turne their backes before their enemies, because they be excommunicate: Neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the excommunicate from among you.
And then Iosuah smote them, and slewe them, and hanged them on fiue trees: And they hanged still vpon the trees vntill the euening.
Let seuen men of his sonnes be deliuered vnto vs, & we will hang them vp vnto the Lorde in Gibeah of Saul whom ye Lord did choose. And the king saide: I will geue them you.
