And Abram said to the King of Sodom, I haue lift vp mine hand vnto the Lorde the most hie God possessor of heauen and earth,

And I will make thee sweare by ye Lorde God of the heauen, and God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife vnto my sonne of the daughters of the Canaanites among who I dwel.

Nowe therefore come and let vs make a couenant, I and thou, which may be a witnes betweene me and thee.

And his master sawe that the Lorde was with him, and that the Lorde made all that hee did to prosper in his hande.

Now therefore, I pray you, sweare vnto me by the Lord; that as I haue shewed you mercie, ye will also shewe mercie vnto my fathers house, and giue me a true token,

And againe Ionathan sware vnto Dauid, because he loued him (for he loued him as his owne soule)

(24:22) Sweare now therfore vnto me by the Lord, that thou wilt not destroy my seede after me, and that thou wilt not abolish my name out of my fathers house.

And Dauid saide vnto him, Canst thou bring me to this companie? And he said, Sweare vnto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliuer me into the handes of my master, and I will bring thee to this companie.

Nowe, I call God for a recorde vnto my soule, that to spare you, I came not as yet vnto Corinthus.
