Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.

Wherefore God sent me before you to preserue your posteritie in this land, & to saue you aliue by a great deliuerance.

And Ioseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his fathers houshold with bread, euen to the yong children.

Moreouer he saide, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Izhak, and the God of Iaakob. Then Moses hid his face: for he was afraid to looke vpon God.

Perfect is the worke of the mighty God: for all his wayes are iudgement. God is true, and without wickednesse: iust, and righteous is he.

Nowe after the death of Moses the seruant of the Lorde, the Lord spake vnto Ioshua the sonne of Nun, Moses minister, saying,

And Ioshua assembled againe all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called the Elders of Israel, and their heades, and their iudges, and their officers, and they presented themselues before God.

And he sayde to the King of Israel, Put thine hand vpon the bowe; he put his hand vpon it; Elisha put his hands vpon the Kings hands,

My glory shall renue towarde me, and my bowe shall be restored in mine hand.

The way of God is vncorrupt: the worde of the Lord is tried in the fire: he is a shield to all that trust in him.

A Psalme of Dauid. The Lorde is my shephearde, I shall not want.

The Lorde is their strength, and he is the strength of the deliuerances of his anointed.

But thou hast saued vs from our aduersaries, and hast put them to confusion that hate vs.

A Psalme to giue instruction, of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing the mercies of the Lorde for euer: with my mouth will I declare thy trueth from generation to generation.

Who sware vnto the Lorde, and vowed vnto the mightie God of Iaakob, saying,

Therefore sayth the Lorde God of hostes, the mightie one of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine aduersaries, & auenge me of mine enemies.

Then they that erred in spirit, shall haue vnderstanding, and they that murmured, shall learne doctrine.

Thou shalt also sucke ye milke of the Gentiles, and shalt sucke the breastes of Kings: and thou shalt know, that I the Lord am thy Sauiour, and thy Redeemer, the mightie one of Iaakob.

And I will strengthen them in the Lorde, and they shall walke in his Name, sayth the Lorde.

Haue ye not read so much as this Scripture? The stone which the builders did refuse, is made the head of the corner.

This is the stone cast aside of you builders which is become the head of the corner.

And are built vpon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets, Iesus Christ himselfe being the chiefe corner stone,

Notwithstanding the Lord assisted me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching might be fully beleeued, and that al the Gentiles should heare: and I was deliuered out of the mouth of the lion.
