¶ The memory of the just [is] blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
‹Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.›
‹She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.›
‹For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.›
¶ And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
¶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, ‹It is more blessed to give than to receive.›
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with [his] hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.
¶ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
