He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with young.
The diseased have ye not strengthened, neither have ye healed that which was sick, neither have ye bound up [that which was] broken, neither have ye brought again that which was driven away, neither have ye sought that which was lost; but with force and with cruelty have ye ruled them.
For, lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, [which] shall not visit those that be cut off, neither shall seek the young one, nor heal that that is broken, nor feed that that standeth still: but he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear their claws in pieces.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
‹And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.›
‹It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.›
And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb:
¶ We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
¶ And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, [even] as unto babes in Christ.
To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some.
¶ If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into [your] house, neither bid him God speed:
