The Feast of Temporary Shelters“‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you are to have a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work, and you must keep a festival to the LORD for seven days.

The Festival of Temporary Shelters You must celebrate the Feast of Shelters for seven days, at the time of the grain and grape harvest.

(5:1) Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These kingdoms paid tribute as Solomon’s subjects throughout his lifetime.

At that time Solomon and all Israel with him celebrated a festival before the LORD our God for two entire weeks. This great assembly included people from all over the land, from Lebo Hamath in the north to the Stream of Egypt in the south.

A huge crowd assembled in Jerusalem to observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month.

“Look! I am about to bring a nation against you, family of Israel.” The LORD, the God who commands armies, is speaking.“They will oppress you all the way from Lebo Hamath to the stream of the rift valley.”

Now the Jewish Feast of Shelters was near.
