They covered the surface of all the ground, so that the ground became dark with them, and they ate all the vegetation of the ground and all the fruit of the trees that the hail had left. Nothing green remained on the trees or on anything that grew in the fields throughout the whole land of Egypt.

and said,“If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, let my Lord go among us, for we are a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

Please forgive the iniquity of this people according to your great loyal love, just as you have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now.”

Why do you look the other way, and ignore the way we are oppressed and mistreated?

These double disasters confronted you. But who feels sorry for you? Destruction and devastation, famine and sword. But who consoles you?

LORD, we confess that we have been wicked. We confess that our ancestors have done wrong. We have indeed sinned against you.

While they were striking them down, I was left alone, and I threw myself face down and cried out,“Ah, Sovereign LORD! Will you destroy the entire remnant of Israel when you pour out your fury on Jerusalem?”

O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, pay attention, and act! Don’t delay, for your own sake, O my God! For your city and your people are called by your name.”

For who dares make light of small beginnings? These seven eyes will joyfully look on the tin tablet in Zerubbabel’s hand.(These are the eyes of the LORD, which constantly range across the whole earth.)

They were told not to damage the grass of the earth, or any green plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their forehead.
