TSK · Hebrews 3:12

So they say to God,‘Turn away from us! We do not want to know your ways.

For I have obeyed the LORD’s commands; I have not rebelled against my God.

We have rebelled and tried to deceive the LORD; we turned back from following our God. We stir up oppression and rebellion; we tell lies we concocted in our minds.

At that time the city of Jerusalem will be called the LORD’s throne. All nations will gather there in Jerusalem to honor the LORD’s name. They will no longer follow the stubborn inclinations of their own evil hearts.

But they did not listen to me or pay any attention to me! Each one of them followed the stubborn inclinations of his own wicked heart. So I brought on them all the punishments threatened in the covenant because they did not carry out its terms as I commanded them to do.’”

Individuals Are Challenged to Put Their Trust in the Lord The LORD says,“I will put a curse on people who trust in mere human beings, who depend on mere flesh and blood for their strength, and whose hearts have turned away from the LORD.

But they just keep saying,‘We do not care what you say! We will do whatever we want to do! We will continue to behave wickedly and stubbornly!’”

Symbols of Sin and Judgment: The Prostitute and Her Children When the LORD first spoke through Hosea, he said to him,“Go marry a prostitute who will bear illegitimate children conceived through prostitution, because the nation continually commits spiritual prostitution by turning away from the LORD.”

Jesus answered them,“Watch out that no one misleads you.

Persecution of Disciples“You must watch out for yourselves. You will be handed over to councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand before governors and kings because of me, as a witness to them.

Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come.

For if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps he will not spare you.

For people everywhere report how you welcomed us and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God

“Therefore, I became provoked at that generation and said,‘Their hearts are always wandering and they have not known my ways.’

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God, that no one be like a bitter root springing up and causing trouble, and through it many become defiled.
