who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says,‘My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire,’

The chief priests and the experts in the law heard it and they considered how they could assassinate him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed by his teaching.

Jesus was teaching daily in the temple courts. The chief priests and the experts in the law and the prominent leaders among the people were seeking to assassinate him,

Day after day when I was with you in the temple courts, you did not arrest me. But this is your hour, and that of the power of darkness!”

You go up to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast because my time has not yet fully arrived.”

The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Jesus, so the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.

(Jesus spoke these words near the offering box while he was teaching in the temple courts. No one seized him because his time had not yet come.)

Then they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was hidden from them and went out from the temple area.

The Jewish leaders picked up rocks again to stone him to death.

Jesus replied,“Are there not twelve hours in a day? If anyone walks around in the daytime, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.
