For seven days you must present a gift to the LORD. On the eighth day there is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must present a gift to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly day; you must not do any regular work.

“‘On the eighth day you are to have a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work on it.

Ezra read in the book of the law of God day by day, from the first day to the last. They observed the festival for seven days, and on the eighth day they held an assembly as was required.

I thirst for God, for the living God. I say,“When will I be able to go and appear in God’s presence?”

I spread my hands out to you in prayer; my soul thirsts for you in a parched land.(Selah)

The Appeal of Wisdom Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice?

She has sent out her female servants; she calls out on the highest places of the city.

Joyfully you will draw water from the springs of deliverance.

A voice says,“Cry out!” Another asks,“What should I cry out?” The first voice responds:“All people are like grass, and all their promises are like the flowers in the field.

For I will pour water on the parched ground and cause streams to flow on the dry land. I will pour my Spirit on your offspring and my blessing on your children.

Pay attention and come to me! Listen, so you can live! Then I will make an unconditional covenantal promise to you, just like the reliable covenantal promises I made to David.

“Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:‘This is what the LORD says:“I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

Be certain of this, the time is coming,” says the Sovereign LORD,“when I will send a famine through the land– not a shortage of food or water but an end to divine revelation!

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies will guard them, and they will prevail and overcome with sling stones. Then they will drink, and will become noisy like drunkards, full like the sacrificial basin or like the corners of the altar.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Jesus answered her,“If you had known the gift of God and who it is who said to you,‘Give me some water to drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

but you are not willing to come to me so that you may have life.

Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never send away.

Then Jesus, while teaching in the temple courts, cried out,“You both know me and know where I come from! And I have not come on my own initiative, but the one who sent me is true. You do not know him,

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they were all drinking from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

In the same way, he also took the cup after supper, saying,“This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, every time you drink it, in remembrance of me.”

And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit,

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life– water as clear as crystal– pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,
