While in Galilee, he moved from Nazareth to make his home in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? No, you will be thrown down to Hades! For if the miracles done among you had been done in Sodom, it would have continued to this day.

Jesus’ Authority Then they went to Capernaum. When the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.

Rejection at Nazareth Now Jesus left that place and came to his hometown, and his disciples followed him.

How can you say to your brother,‘Brother, let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while you yourself don’t see the beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Then the woman left her water jar, went off into the town and said to the people,

So Jesus’ brothers advised him,“Leave here and go to Judea so your disciples may see your miracles that you are performing.

For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?
