Back to passage

¶ A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent [man] covereth shame.

¶ He that answereth a matter before he heareth [it], it [is] folly and shame unto him.

And above all these things [put on] charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

¶ But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

¶ Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and [of] a good conscience, and [of] faith unfeigned:

¶ But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and [your] nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
