Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
Then said Jesus unto him, ‹Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.›

If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.

¶ And when Peter saw [it], he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
That word, [I say], ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.
And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, ‹I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.›
I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.
