Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, ‹Sleep on now, and take› [your] ‹rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.›
¶ After two days was [the feast of] the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put [him] to death.
And he said unto them, ‹Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third› [day] ‹I shall be perfected.›
‹When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.›
Then Jesus said unto them, ‹My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.›
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.
And the Jews' passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the passover, to purify themselves.
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
¶ ‹Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come› [again] ‹unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.›
‹Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.›
¶ ‹I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.›
‹And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.›
‹And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.›
‹And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare› [it]: ‹that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.›
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
¶ Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
