¶ So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings.

For my loins are filled with a loathsome [disease]: and [there is] no soundness in my flesh.

¶ Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,

Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.

And I will feed the flock of slaughter, [even] you, O poor of the flock. And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bands; and I fed the flock.

‹The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.›

Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

‹They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right,› [that] ‹shall ye receive.›

‹But when the king heard› [thereof], ‹he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.›

¶ And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
